Meeting Minutes
November 7, 2011
President’s Welcome: - Jim Sellman called the meeting to order at 7:35 pm.
Opening Remarks
· Football is currently tied for the PAC10 Championship. A win over Phoenixville on Thanksgiving Day will clinch the PAC10 title outright. Football team finished in 7th place in District 1. First playoff game will be this Friday at 7pm in Coach McNelly Stadium against Coatesville.
· Field Hockey will be starting state playoffs tomorrow against Emmaus at Whitehall at 5pm.
Treasurer’s Report – Jim Sellman
· Field hockey has repaid their loan in full and is now out of a negative balance.
· Approved with no changes.
Secretary’s Report
· Jim made a correction to the minutes that were presented. Correction to the third point under the Athletic Directors Report – Jim indicated that the coach is not able to request to combine the Winter and Fall Cheerleading accounts. They are two separate teams. Those present that were in attendance at the last meeting agreed with the correction.
· Minutes were approved with no further changes.
Athletic Director Report – Mickey McDaniel
· Mickey reminded everyone that no passes are accepted at PIAA playoff games and no 50/50 sales are permitted during playoffs.
· Mickey expressed congratulations to Joe O’Such for continuing on to States in Boys Cross Country.
Team Parent Reports
· Cross Country: Boys finished 2nd in the PAC10. Joe O’Such will continue on to states. Girls placed 6th in districts.
· Football: Tied for PAC10 Championship at the moment with one game left against Phoenixville on Thanksgiving.
· Cheerleading: No team parent present to report
· Golf: No team parents present to report
· Soccer: No team parent present to report
· Girls Tennis: Finished #1 in doubles and placed 3rd in PAC10. Made it to districts.
· Volleyball: Team finished the season with a winning record and made the district playoffs for the first time in 6 years (we believe). Although they lost in the playoffs to a tough Mount St Joseph’s team, the team is very proud of their winning season. Spring-Ford was also chosen to host the district finals (held this past Saturday) and the first round of the State Tournament scheduled for tomorrow evening.

Committee Reports
· Finance – Nothing to report.
· 50/50 – Season has wrapped up as we are not permitted to sell 50/50 during PIAA playoff games.
· Fundraising – Applebee’s breakfast scheduled for 12/3 for Softball, Girls Basketball is selling the new Ram Nation t-shirts.
· Membership – Only a couple of new members since the last meeting. We still struggle with ways to improve club membership.
· Scholarship – Discussion around good standing date for scholarships. See new business below.
· Spirit Wear – Spirit Wear continues to see strong sales this season. Stadium Chairs are increasing in popularity as more people are using them at games. We now carry yoga pants. We are offering clearance deals on some of our older stock to clear out the inventory of items that haven’t sold well. We continue to see jacket orders coming in as well.
Old Business:
· Nothing new to report.
New Business:
· First reading of the amended Section 9.02 – Eligibility. All Senior student athletes of club members in good standing as of January 31st shall be eligible to apply for booster club scholarships.
· Discussion was held regarding the Senior Banquet and the expenses that the Booster Club incurs to pay for non-members. There was discussion that the club would like to recognize all athletes regardless of membership with a plaque but that we would only pay for the banquet expense of those seniors whose family are booster club members.
· First reading of the insertion of an additional article to be inserted as Article XI to be renamed to Recognition of Champions/Seniors. The following sections shall be amended to add the following:
o Section 11.01 – Eligibility. All Senior student athletes of club members in good standing as of two weeks after the first day of the Spring practice season shall be eligible to attend the Senior Banquet at no cost. All Senior student athletes of non-members shall be eligible to attend at a cost to be determined by the Booster Club Executive Board and Current Athletic Director.
o Section 11.03 – Recognition. All Senior athletes will receive a photo plague in recognition of their athletic achievements.
